GERRY® PERFORMANCE OUTERWEAR
SPONSOR OF NASTAR'S 2003-2004 SEASON
New York, NY - (September 4, 2002) - Amerex Group Inc. one
of the largest privately-held U.S.-based manufacturers of quality
outerwear and The National Standard Race (NASTAR), the largest
public grassroots recreational ski race program, today announced
that Amerex's proprietary brand Gerry® will become the national
sponsor of the "Jeep King Of The Mountain NASTAR" 2003-04 race
season. NASTAR has since its inception in 1968, attracted more than
4.7 million skiers of all ages and abilities to ski races held at
premier ski resorts across the U.S. and in Canada. The agreement
will provide Amerex with visibility for its Gerry brand, a line of
performance outerwear for men, women and children who engage in
outdoor sporting activities
"We are excited to be part of the NASTAR organization that
provides people of all ages with the competitive opportunity to
enter ski races in 26 states and Canada," said Glenn Palmer,
president and chief executive officer of Amerex Group Inc. "It is a
natural audience for Gerry and through our sponsorship we will be
part of the spirit and the excitement that attracts so many people
to ski racing events."
The Gerry brand has since its introduction in 1945 been
associated with performance wear for outdoor enthusiasts. Over the
years, Gerry's innovative products were worn by the WWII Army's 10th
Mountain Division, and Sir Edmund Hillary for his first successful
ascent of Mr. Everest. In the '70s, Gerry created the "Super
Sweater," the original puffy down jacket. Today's Gerry styles
continue to combine versatility, style and performance for men,
women and children. For additional information about Gerry outerwear

About NASTAR
NASTAR is the acronym for NAtional
STAndard Race and is the largest recreational ski race program in
the world. Developed by SKI Magazine in 1968, NASTAR has undergone
numerous improvements over the years, but its mission has remained
the same - to provide a fun, competitive and easily accessible
racing program that, through the development of a handicap system,
allows racers of all ages and abilities a means to compare
themselves with one another regardless of when and where they race.
Last season marked one of the most successful seasons in the
program's 35-year history as over 93,000 winter sports enthusiasts
ran through the NASTAR gates at 121 resorts nationwide, highlighted
by an incredible season-ending National Championships at Park City
Mountain Resort that brought together 1,011 competitors in search of
National Titles. NASTAR is owned by Mountain Sports Media, publisher
of SKI Magazine and managed and operated by Octagon, a global
marketing-led sports and event marketing company. For additional
